Statement of Purpose for Masters in Computer Science
Giving a general introduction about myself, I am XXXX (DOB: XX:XX:XXXX). Since my birth, I am residing at XXXX (India) with my family. In my family, we are five members: my grandfather (mention occupation), my parents (mention occupation for each of them), my younger sister (student), and me. Currently, I am holding a bachelor of computer applications degree (completed in year 20XX from XXXX University with XXXX division). And now I have decided to pursue a master's degree course in computer science to further enrich my knowledge pool regarding computing working domain. For the same, I have made plans of pursuing master of science computer science course at the University of British Columbia.
However, India is house to various globally recognized academic institutions offering M.Sc computer science courses, but still, I made the decision of studying abroad as I want to acquire the most advanced skills in the field of computer science and that would hardly be possible by pursuing M.Sc computer science course from any Indian institution; Indian institutions are still lacking world-class equipment for the study in the field of computer science and also, curriculums offered for M.Sc computer science course at most of the Indian institutions is hardly relevant to provide knowledge regarding advanced technologies related to the field of computer sciences.
Talking about my plans for studying abroad I preferred to pursue my higher studies in Canada instead of any other international destination. A number of facts motivated me to think of pursuing my further studies in Canada: Canada houses a number of globally recognized universities which are offering master of science in computer science degree courses including: University of Toronto, University of British Columbia and University of Saskatchewan etc. Study costs for master of science computer science courses at most of the Canadian universities are comparatively affordable than for similar courses available at various institutions of high repute in various other destinations i.e. USA, UK or Australia. Canada houses a vast population of people from different countries, living in harmony. Also, it is considered as one of the most friendly destinations in the world to live and study abroad. Canada offers one of the world-class living standards and that too at very affordable costs. Canada's government and universities financially help international students from around the world by providing them scholarships to study in Canada.
Once I finalized to study further in Canada I researched various academic institutions offering master's in computer science degree courses and finally made the decision of pursuing master in computer science course at the University of British Columbia. the University of British Columbia is ranked #35 in Best Global Universities and # 52 in Best Universities for Computer Science (U.S.News.com). Academic faculty at the University of British Columbia is comprised of world-renowned researchers and educators. Alongside the theoretical part of the course, students are offered internship and Co-op programs to let them gain industry-relevant working skills and get ready to enter the workplace. Also, study abroad or exchange programs offered by the University of British Columbia enable the students to get exposure of different cultures and make a network of contacts in abroad destinations that could help them later in finding working opportunities abroad. Faculty-to-student ratios are perfectly optimized in order to provide a better learning environment while studying in the classroom; students can interact easily and more frequently with educators.
Tuition fee costs for M.Sc. computer science course at the University of British Columbia is one of the lowest in Canada for any master's degree course in computer science. Finally, knowing all these factors, I decided to pursue my further studies at the University of British Columbia.
However, returning back to the home country is my priority on completing my studies at UBC, but on completing the M.Sc. computer science course at the University of British Columbia I would be eligible of applying for a post-study work permit for Canada. So, I have options to stay in Canada temporarily and acquire decent working experience in the field of computer science and come back to India with an internationally recognized master's degree in computer science along with a decent working profile in the respective field. Various Indian employers including HCL Technologies, Accenture, Infosys, TCS or Dell Technologies offers best in the industry working options to the professionals engaged in the field of computer science i.e. CS Engineer, Programmer, Applications Developer or CS Analyst etc. Starting salaries offered to the computer science professionals by these employers range in between INR 45,000 to 60,000 per month.
So, I humbly request you to kindly issue me Canada Study Permit so that I could pursue M.Sc. computer science course at the University of British Columbia and fulfill my career aspirations.
